Are these SPD compatible or do they use a Ritchey propriety cleat?

I had a set of these on my old Fat all those years ago. SPDs worked but from memory it wasn't quite a perfect fit. They held on very tight, even after a crash!

I've only ever heard them to be Shimano compatable, but have no first hand experience so wouldn't want to commit for certain.

They come with cleats in any case though so only a possible issue if you share pedals.

they are supposedly shimano cleat compatible but in my experinece they are not; hard to clip in and even harder to get out.

i've invested heavily in this pedal and have quite a few spares, should the price drop to £ 25 then I'll be intereted (bought more than 1 pair, new off the bay at that price, can't say I need more but yet another spare is always handy).

I've been using them with Shimano cleats for a couple of years, with no problems at all...
Maybe my cleats are more worn? :?
They are the best looking pedal though!

I've decided to keep these now for a planned rasta build.

If anyone is interested in them I suggest they buy the similar NOS ones off eBay. I've not seen them on there and bought mine elsewhere for more, but if they're up there at that price I'd suggest funds are better spent elsewhere than my FS ad here.
