Will these ebay shocks be ok on ProFlex 855 xc bike

Don't do it!.
They might fit, and last longer than 5 minutes but they are way heavier than you'll ever need.
My 857 has a 350lb on the rear and a 250lb in the vector 2's.

What type do you have then

The ODS shock has an oil damper in it.
I simply removed the rock hard elastomers and fitted springs I bought off ebay.
The rear was a shock and spring from a giant box 1. I just swapped the springs by cutting down the knurled plastic adjuster.
The vector 2 spring was a 250lb spring that I cut down to fit,
I was going to go down the air shock route but they seem quite fragile and expensive to keep in good nick.

Im a little confused so made need putting right here
My ProFlex 855 is standard, has similar shock damping front and rear ie a alloy tube containing piston with rubber ball acting as bump stop.
I figure this gives me air damping.
The Yellow elastomer's provide shock absorption and rebound.

Are you saying I can remove the yellow elastomer's and replace them with springs?

Am appreciating here help here

I think the early shocks had little or no damping but if you have an ODS then yes you can replace the elastomers with springs no problem.

yes , i did that, the speedpro spring cost me £60 and that was 0ver 10 years ago, so a new shcok for a tenner ain't gonna be much good.

I just bit the bullet and purchased a pair of Risse Shocks

cheers for the advice

Cant weight to get them
