I was quoted $32 USD to ship one of these. They're aprox. 1" x 3/4" and about a gram.

I've just been quoted £717 for a f&f from the states

Hence I am missing out on my dream bike again :evil:

Kristian's not that bad. Not to here anyway, and you're closer. It was a shop in Florida. Couldn't justify spending $48 on a new shifter cover, so I decided to strip the Ultegra off the bike and redo it in Dura Ace instead.

Can't remember the details, but a set of springs for my van bought from a UK supplier on eBay were going to cost about 800 quid to ship (UK=>Sweden).

So i went to the German eBay site and ordered the same springs, from the same UK supplier.
The springs were cheaper, the postage was €30 or 35 and they came from the same warehouse in the UK.

When i emailed about this (After they'd arrived of course), it's apparently as he'd not set his German account up properly. And high postage to Sweden is because it's not in the EU, and stuff goes missing "all the time". As they don't have any rules as they are outside the EU.

Outside the New European Empire there is only barbarians. We should build walls so nobody can get in. And no one can smuggle precious bike parts away from us :roll: :facepalm:

TBH it's not the first/only time i've had this discussion. A chap on another forum insisted, quite vehemently, that ordering stuff from Sweden to the UK would absolutely, no questions asked, include a handling and VAT charge.

Also had to deal with suppliers and shops who think the same thing.
