who produced the first straight pull hubs?

i was thinking nuke proof back in the day? but not 100% sure on this. My mind remembers the ad or the review in MBUK but i just cant remember the brand for sure.
 
Pulsar were probably the first to bring it to the masses. They made the big mistake of taking the production to Taiwan fitting inferior bearings and cutting corners in the production process to maximise the profit margin. These cheaper hubs then became available to the OEM market but bearing failure became an issue, plus freehubs that failed quickly and were not compatible with Shimano replacements. The trade lost faith in the brand and this proved to be the downfall of Pulsar. BTW I have fitted mine with ceramic bearing replacement units :cool:

cheers for the reply guys. I remember an ad in mbuk years ago, but could not remember the brand. Out side the pennyfarthing idea any other idea apart from pulsar
