Which rigid fork for boardman mtb pro with 100mm front fork

I would like to make my mtb more fun to ride on the road (well at least for the commute when its wet and rubbish).

It currently has a 100m travel front fork with lockout. Will I benefit much to a change to a rigid fork, or is it a waste of money.

I will also need to figure out how to mount mudguards on whatever fork I get - is it safe to mount p clips onto a carbon fork blade?

thanks

You might save 0.5-1.0kg going rigid (depends on what your current sus fork is) but it's nice keeping the sus option there if the commute has any offroad sections... or just for the XC weekend blast
