Which replacement freehub?

Is the Shimano STX-RC a suitable replacement freehub for a Deore DX of 92 vintage or is there another that will do the job?

I think, the STX has a bigger ring, so the spokes will be too long. I would search for a xt 75x hub. Or LX 55x. They will fit and they look better

Oh, and isn't the STX 8gear? DX is 7 or 6gear. So your casette wont fit.

I mean the freehub body, the black bit on the side.

As far as I can tell there are two different types available, the STX-RC and the M290. Both are 7 speed probably compact which is a minor problem but I don't know if they're compatible.

For the casette: every 7gear casette will fit every 7gear freehub. Compact or not, doesn't matter. Als long, as your old one is not of the threaded feewheel type.

Cones? Wont be a problem, I think. The sealing could be one.
