Would have been the XT level equivalent for about 98?

OR could you still get the Sach Wavey shifters then?

Cheers
Chris. :D

Can't remember if SRT 800 X-rays were out then or not, else SRT 600?? good question. There seems to be a certain lack of interest (shall we say politely) in gripshift here. Personally I've always had them and love them. Started with Campag Bullet Shifters, then have had gripshifts of all sorts, and the wavey ones too (the latter are a bit uncomfortable but they seem to have more precise shifting).

Cheers matey.

So I'm looking for SRT 800s or 600s. I had Sach Wavey shifters on my Zaskar LE around 94ish and they were fab. i seem to remember Gripshift needed a lot of looking after cos they weren't keen on mud but the Sach shifters weren't so sensitive.

Am I right in thinking Sach were brought by Sram in the mid nineties and their shifters re-branded as Sram?

Yep ;)

1997 - Grip Shift ESP 900/700/500/ X-Ray 800/600/400
1998 - Sachs Power Grip Shift Extreme/Wavy
1999 - Grip Shift Centera/Neos/Quarz/Plasma/5.07.0/9.0/Betsy

I have never used anything but Gripshift, starting way back when they had a cork covering. Currently using Sram Attacks which are a M950 XTR grey colour so go great with my M950 levers.

I use Sram Attack or Rocket, both look fairly retro and work great. Plenty available on the fleabay.

agreed. But a simple solution was the RAW Powerspring - a beefed up spring that replaces the standard one in your rear mech. Don't s'pose you can get them any more...

X-rays came fitted to my '95 DBR so they were about then, not sure when SRT600s appeared but out of the two the 600s are the nicer IMHO.

Hum... :?:

Thanks for the info guys. ;)
There's a NOS pair of X rays on the bay at the moment.........I'll keep an eye on them.

I'm in no real rush though. :D
