I've been saving these for a project, but they're not going to get used so it's time to find them a new home
These wheels came on a bike I bought last year, built in about 1992, ridden a couple of times, then put away in storage. They still have the original hutchinson tyres on, which have loads of tread but are cracking slightly with age. So they're mint/immaculate/perfect/as new condition. Hubs are super smooth, the freewheel sounds as good as new, and the rims have no signs of wear at all. They're still straight and true, but a quick check of spoke tension before riding might be a good idea, just in case. About the only minus points are that the rim decals are lifting slightly at the edges and the spoke nipples are slightly marked/corroded, but it's not at all serious and it might be possible to clean them up. The front tube has a puncture too, but I would recommend changing the tubes before riding anyway.
The details:
- Campagnolo C Record hubs, 36 hole front and rear. Rear is 130mm, english threaded
- original C Record QR skewers, no scratching on the ends, etc.
- Mavic Open 4CD rims
- Wheelsmith (I think) spokes, 36 hole, x3 front and rear.
- Dura Ace 7400 7 speed freewheel, 13-23 (13, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23)
- Hutchinson tyres, 700x22 (slightly cracked, but probably still rideable)
I also have a new, boxed, pair of Michelin Hi Lite 700x20c skinwall tyres that I planned to put on them.
I'd like 285 GBP for the wheels, posted from Spain to the UK/Europe, 45 GBP for the michelins, or 320 GBP for everything.
pics below!
Thanks, Andy
