Whats the longest something has stayed 'lost' in your house

In December 2001 when we moved house I put a new M952 XTR rear mech somewhere safe for when I built up the Hei Hei and I've been looking for it on and off ever since

We had a big spring clean of the garden this morning and in the process moved a little storage shed we've got, as we carried it up the steps something wrapped in an oily rag fell out of it

I knew what it was straight away ;) but why on earth I tucked it up out of the way on a little ridge thats almost impossible to reach I'll never know  its the sort of place you hide a spare key, above the door at roof height :?

So can anyone beat almost 7 years lost :)

Cheers
Steve

You win...although I've spent time on and off over the last few months looking for some bright yellow Yeti Speed Grips and a set of Hope Top Tube Cable Guides.....both of which I bought and now cant find

that Ti fork went into my garage in '99, I could swear I put it over by the motorcycles...

I can't find my portable USB hard-drive. It's been missing for weeks and it's really starting to annoy me...

But I did FIND lots of stuff today:

Both of my FORGE thumbie mounts. With Dura-Ace bar-con levers fitted; One in the house and the other in the garage (how does that happen?)

A full set of unused Avid V-brakes with pads & levers.

And a mystery pair of front & rear XT mechs that look new.
(I can't say how long they've been "lost" because I don't remember ever buying them )

You and me both. 120Gb somewhere. Includes all my backed up data, at least £5000 of software, three Jenna Jameson films and 1.5 million child support details. Only the last bit is made up.

Anything you find which you dont remember owning is mine , i lend it to you ages ago and you did not gave it back .

I've lost my garmin gps. If anyone has it could I have it back, clearly not in my house

I've lost a finger of fudge, must be 10 years now and nada :? Usual suspects say they know nothing "probably where you left it" and so on...

John. In regards to the Garmin, did you lose it at HONC? If so there was a post on their website about one having been found and handed in. Not seen it personally but have seen the notice on their website. Lost: a Garmin 201 GPS
