Hmmm, interesting one. Coinciding with my keenest MTBing days ('89 to '93) riding with the Revolution MTB club there was a fair old range. Me mostly on Stumpjumpers or Oranges the rest on various stuff: IIRC, the boss on a Funk, then others on Stumpjumpers, Cannondales, a Kona Ti, a Marin Team Titanium, some Pine Mountains, Kona Prestiges, a Pace RC100, a Proflex...etc
