Wanted: Stronglight 49D Chainring(s)

TA rings

I'll happily swap you a larger ring for a smaller one (i.e. a 52 tooth for a 40 tooth). What condition/how worn is the 40, and does it have those fixing holes on each of its six arms for inner rings. Do you want the same?

hmm, how about a 48 and a 56, or 57?

may have a couple off you...

I'll have a look tomorrow for you. They're all in the shed - and it's cold and dark!

Just to be sure we're on the same wavelength, the 5-pin singles are like this (only not quite as shiny!) -

And the 'Double Adapter' set is the 5-pin version of these -

And the 47-50 double is the 5-pin version of these -

Thanks for the offer, I'll keep it in mind but I'd quite like to keep the 40t thats currently on it as a spare. If I can't find anything I'll give you a shout!

My angle is wanting smaller rings for front-to-rear drive on tandems. So any smaller rings that you want to swap, not just the 40T, then givvus a shout. I've a fair selection of bigger rings to exchange.

Right, here we go. All are 5-pin version of these in 3/32 with no extra drillings etc. for the 'Randonneur' rings. See -

57 unused

The used ones still have plenty of life in them and with a bit of elbow grease (obtainable in 2.5 litre tubs from Halfords ;)) should polish up OK. The unused ones are dull but again should polish up well. I don't have any spare crank-to-ring bolts but you seem to have these on the set you've got. They can be obtained from Spa Cycles in Harrogate and at some jumbles if required.

Regarding price, Spa Cycles are currently advertising new rings from £17 to £36 each (plus postage) depending on size so how about £25 for two unused posted or £20 for used?

Heres the pictures I mentioned earlier on, let me know if it's any use to you with regards to th wear- I've tried to picture it best I can..

32T ring

Oh dear. This is an inner ring: I need outers, like the 40T pictured earlier. This inner ring I cant fit directly to my cranks, so for tandems with cross-ove drive, it ain't no use to me. I require outers., not inners. Hmmmmm

Cycloturiste chainrings?

If there are any left overs please let me know!
Looking for a double set up: 48-46t (outer), 34-32t (inner)
Triple set up: 48-46t (outer), 34t (middle), 26-24t (inner)
Also in need of crank and triple chain ring bolts, spacer, pedal washers and dust caps! :?
