I am looking for a set of Wolber Canyon wheels & stumbled on this, massive frame and miles from me....shame as the wheels are difficult to find but wouldn't bring myself to break it up for the wheels/spares even if it was close enough to grab as its such a survivor....also not super cheap....or maybe it is? I no nothing about Motobecane MTBs.
Nice triple TA chainset.....

if someone else buys/breaks it I'd be interested in the wheels/tyres, but then the bloods not on my hands.

How much would those tyres sell for in that condition at todays prices? £40 each? £50? And the wheelset? Now look at those chainrings, hardly any wear, it's from 1984 and some of those parts will be worth something to someone at some point, and the frameset will eventually be bought by some tall nostalgic Frenchman with impeccable taste.

A patient angler could place all this bait in the Bay of Fleas and catch whopper after whopper as they swim by.

For me £200 is a reasonable price just for the wheelset and tyres, if I needed those wheels the bike would already be sold and my conscience would be clear, there is life in all of this bike and there is no harm done by splitting and selling on to recoup your investment, do it before someone else does.

I know you're right.....!

I will definitely give that a go, hopefully the seatpost isn't seized......
I can add it to the other oversized bikes I have!
