Unknown retro(mod) -

I built this up a few years ago for my wife. But I don't actually know what it is: any ideas?
Ive always presumed late 80s or early 90s. Frame says Reynolds 725, it may be, it is light, but its possible it's not.
Lugs have a triangle-ish shape cut out. Braze ons for friction shifters.
Lovely splatter paint finish. I can't find a frame number, there was a bit of corrosion on the bb and I slapped paint on it, which doesn't help, but I don't remember seeing a number.

That's all I have to go on unfortunately.

Is the splatter its original paint? Can’t be that many bikes that came with that finish. I would’ve thought it shouldn’t be too hard to narrow down what it is.

I think its original paint. But I don't honestly know.
I have been wondering if its a Stan Pike, the lug detail looks correct. I will strip the bb paint, and see if there is a number there.
