Looks like an early Motobecane

Looks like the internal lugs of the Peugeot conglomerate. i think mbk was part of it at the time.

Best recycled - there are plenty of quality bikes need saving.

Cheap old bikes are kind of brilliant though -

I put this one in the "cockroach" class - although those chainsets bend the big rings if you crank hard, and those cantis defy mechanics by eliminating almost all the leverage applied at the lever
I love the bottle-dynamo Mount though - perfect off-road
