Nearly finished building my Univega up. Not sure of a year, seller thought around 96 but by no means 100%.
Seeing as I couldn't find out what year it was I thought i'd throw my fav bits at it regardless of year of manufacture.
I think it looks great :D
Hopefully when I get a front derailleur fitted i'll discover that it rides great aswell ;)
Enjoy
EDIT: Current thinking is 1997 :D

I think it is a ninety seven as my wife has a univega in orange and the frame design is v brake only(I think that yours is as well) and I bought it for her in 1997 with some early sram type parts on it and it is still original and all working. I prefer your colour though

Agreed - Looks

Only comment though is that it looks like it could do with a longer travel fork :?

Not sure what the travel is on the Manitous' but they "look" a bit short.

May be just me though ;)

Missed out recently on a Univega (circa 97) locally  IIRC they were good bikes

them are manitou comps and have about 48mm travel and are about four years older than the frame....I think they look nice on it though....

bit short travel but nothing that matters much...

Nice build
i have just picked up a frame very similar to yours. An alpina 802 aluminium frame but i also don’t know the age of mine. I am unsure what to do with mine. Like you if i can’t find out the age then it maybe a light as i can with the funds i have.

Nice

Beautiful build!

I think you'll like the handling and the 'short' forks should keep the steering nice and tight

- Oh and they look ace, which is fairly important
