Tyred of snow...
They are still making Smokes and Darts. They are only blackwall now.
I bought mine in the USA, about $20 each!

I'm not sure that anyone imports them into the UK, though.
someone does as i have a pair, bought on eBay cant remember who the seller was. also have a pair of folding Onza Porcs(kevlar bead?)

Are porcs good in the snow / ice ? I would guess for a standard / non studded tyre they are pretty good ?

Yep, I rate them in the snow. It's only cold white mud after all :D

they sure do clear well, lots of space between the few knobbly bits. also last better as snow dont wear 'em out like everything else does!

Another vote here for the modern kevlar porcs.

Absolute nightmare to fit on my rims but once on seem to shed quickly and grip well - for a tiny tyre that is :)

Not quite sick yet....

When the snow is nice and crunchy, and the sun rises up through the frosty trees - it's rather nice commuting actually:

My 2.35" HiRollers seems to be quite happy in the snow.

I'm just hoping the freezing weather holds out to Thursday, as I'm not riding this bike on salty wet roads - that just f**ks everything up.

I'm heading to Llandegla this Friday - should be fun...

Minus 21 in Sweden today. I couldn't feel my fingertips after 5 minutes commuting with two pairs of Windstopper gloves on.... :?

Rolling on Nokian Hakkapeliitta W106's - great on ice and compacted snow but get a bit lost in the deeper stuff.

I prefer big volume and low pressure for the snowy slush we have now. Been well impressed on the daily commute with my Nokian NBX Lites, 2.2" and running around 20psi. Very predictable so far!

Just fitted a panaracer Cinder 2.1 to the front of my 91 kona cc & it's been great in the 4" of snow we have & the tread was clearing no probs but I need to lower the tyre preasure down a bit from 35psi
