TREKin' 'ell. Fluorescent Adolescent. Ready to ride at last

So after a couple of week's holiday, I now find myself a couple more weeks away from the start of the season. Think I need to crack on then!
All I had to show for my trip to the Welsh borders for this bike was a bottle of matching nail varnish, courtesy of a beauty outlet in Gloucester. Hate to say it, but that was about the highlight of Gloucester.

The paintwork is pretty dull on this frameset and you know how I like a bit of shine. So it was out with the T-Cut, polish and drill to freshen this thing up a bit. I know it's a cross bike and prone to a hard life but I try to keep my bikes in good condition. There's some battle scars from the previous owner though, so hoping the nail varnish can ease the pain of seeing them IMG_20230821_174746291_HDR.jpg IMG_20230821_184858594_HDR.jpg IMG_20230821_175415700_HDR.jpg

Took my time trying to make it look as respectable as I can, rewarding work and the paint is actually very nice under the general abuse that showed from its past.
In my absence, a cassette arrived at work, one spacer short 🤬 along with a set of wheel decals which may clash owing to their brightness. Any way of dulling them down? 🤔 IMG_20230821_174349964_HDR.jpg IMG_20230821_174440656_HDR.jpg

After probably a couple of hours of working on the paint, I thought I'd turn my attention to the seatpost and saddle, turning the former around the right way to start with before removing the saddle, stripping and cleaning the clamp and refitting with carbon paste, cleaning the grotty looking saddle, fitting and adjusting the height to Muz size.

So here we are so far. Next job is to clean up the brakes and rear mech, grease the headset, and chainset. Wiping over the smooth BB bearings and fit the chainset and gold chain, oh and try to find some pale green bar tape. I really want to go with three different tapes for this but the fluorescence yellow I have is way too bright, like the Roval wheel decals. Anyone know of something suitable?

If you really must then Lizard Skins do various shades of green in their DSP bar tape.
Thanks, I'll have a look 😉
+1 for black bar tape. Nice looking bike 👍
black, white and green I was thinking. So unless anyone does a pale green/black fade AND a pale green white fade, I'm looking at three sets of bar tape
