wow  i've delt with most of you guys in here over the last couple of years and i just can't see what the problem is :?

come on guy's we're all adults so lets all act kids , build bikes and get along :p

+1 from me

I for one quite like marin man and his little quirks
so who cares if he posts a lot?
if you dont like the chap dont read his posts is there any need for this type of thread to continue?

give the guy a break I think he is a breath of fresh (ok sometimes maybe hot too lol) air in here

he goes through builds like i do pants and seems to help a few others out where he can so lets all cut him some slack shall we ;) . I just take him as someone who is genuinely enthusiastic about retro bikes and isnt that why we are all here???

Rob

I don't really see the issue with someone making a lot of posts, and I have only pointed it out the irony when said people are commenting on how many others have posted.

Seems much too personal, a lot of these exchanges.

We all have hassles and such in life, this is not really an ideal place to take out frustrations and issues.

It is certainly not a place to be making physical threats.

Unfortunately it is human nature to pick on people, it is more about asserting membership of a group than any rational response.

Question is, how evolved are you emotionally?

It is easy enough to hold back from responding, and it is actually quite easy to ignore PMs too.

Rather than do that, some people do seem to be overlooking reasonable responses and resorting to mean spirited reactions and a certain degree of bullying.

That is sad, as we all have much more in common than our differences.

Ask yourself, are you really suggesting that your perceived notions of difference, based on class and social status are relevant in 2011?

If you know they are not, then stop basing your asides and quips on them.

Likewise, stop responding in kind to such provocation with jibes and outright aggression.

You have kids, what do you do when one is bullying another or behaving unreasonably? Do you join in, or do you try to resolve the underlying problems and help them grow to see things in a better light?

This was a light hearted thread, why oh why drag it down this road?

I dont tend to post on such threads but in this case I just wanted to say that if I have ever needed help or advice with with things like Manitou forks MM is the 1st person I pm for advice because I know he has a lot of experience with them. . . . .and he always obliges and is always friendly.

I have never met the guy and I am sure I have very differing views on the world but that doesnt detract from his input into the site, not to mention his . . . interesting bikes that I always follow with interest.

As for the massively needless posts and thread lengths I just ignore them and look at the pictures

Have to say i have left a lot of forums due to things like this, i cant really comment on the content of PMs but who cares what someone writes in a post.
I have never seen anything offensive or abusive in MMs posts so whats the problem, i never really pay much attention to notice if anythings irelevent but so what if it is.
I like this forum a lot, your all a really good bunch of guys with a passion for the same thing always willing to help each other out and in my experience whilst i have been here, be it only a short time, scott has been a great guy towards me even when at times i have probably done is head in with questions.

Im not in anyones corner i just think this kinda stuff ruins other forums, leave it to PMs

I would agree with the posts on this page (page 6, the postings above mine). Personal attacks and insults, not to speak of physical threats, have in my opinion no place on nice forums like this. I'm sure you're all nice and smart people, so please try to resolve your differences in a constructive manner. :)
