To Cold Set A Frame Or Not?

Is it worthwhile or unnecessary to cold set a frame when going from 126mm to 130mm hub spacing?

Id say it was unnecessary. Wouldn't do it myself, adjust a few washers/spacers if need be.

Thanks for the reply.Logically because it's such a small difference it would seem to me to be unnecessary,too,but I thought I'd ask for some opinions anyway.

I prefer to cold set so that the dropouts can be correctly aligned - rather than wedge a longer axle in

If you are running 8/9 speed, it isn't an issue. Trying to get 10/11 speed to work might be an issue, given that you are angling the dropouts inward slightly, and the sensitivity of the narrower chains/cogs.

Give it a go - see if it works without.

Thanks for the replies.It will be 8 speed,so I'll see as suggested how it fits and performs,but do accept cold setting is probably the best way of dealing with a wider hub.
