So say you had a tired looking Ti frame that had lost it's sparkle over the years, what options are there for refurbing it, and more importantly, who in the UK can do it?

I'm interested in seeing the different types of finish as well.

Many thanks!

do it yourself with either scotchbtite pads for a brussed effect or autosol for polished. if it was brished but you want polished then it'll take ages

I blasted my ti parts and they came out really nice :)

Details and pics are on my marin build thread.

WD :)

Thanks all, I was thinking of something a little less DIY - some kind of professional process like burnishing for example.

Any ideas?

I just posted a few days ago on the use of autosol for bringing up a polished finish on a Ti frame and was advised it wasn't a good idea :? Have you done this yourself Lewis1641? If so, i take it the finish was fine?

  • Later edit: Oops...didn't see ur post on my thread...this answers my question....cheers  :)

I "refurbed" my Hei Hei with a scotch-brite pad and WD40 as a lubricant....

It took a while but it came up like new.
