This is a kind request for help having just unboxed this Ti Raleigh 40th Anniversary frameset.

I was going to install the headset but when measuring up the head tube there is a huge difference in interference fit & no way a headset cups would even fit!!!!
Its shocking manufacturing IMHO.
It really is an insult to the SBDU framesets when looking at how its put together😞👎
This will be my supposed upmarket commuter as really that’s all its good for despite it being 753…..

So I’m asking if anyone has a headtube reaming & facing tool (1” version) would it be possible to borrow?

If you live near to Stonehouse, Gloucestershire?

I’d be willing to drive to pick it up within reason.

Otherwise my alternative would be to get Argos to do it & it would mean at cost…..

Well went down to the guys at Argos who got this sorted & they hadn’t seen a 40th Anniversary frame before & they did have a chuckle of how its been put together & how its not fully 753…
For me it’s a terrible tribute as everything is wrong with it so this’ll be a commuter type bike for me if I can see my box of bits to build it up that is…..
Top of the head tube removed .013” & the bottom.010” metal removed.

Horrible chunky dropouts & terrible welds when if this was a genuine 753 frameset silver soldering would have been used 5E3E280E-EC44-4E69-B5F2-B7763D075E79.jpeg

You get all this by paying £1500 😮😮
Certainly wont be an investment like the original SBDU frames of which I have a proper 753 one. The box is worth keeping though but this is not worth that money in this condition…..
