Love those forks - by why such a long steerer ?

I guess this model isn’t a true MTB and more of a 26” tourer, but I thought that considering many of us are touring on our old mountain bikes this could fit the bill for someone. Thorn like to use lots of headset spaces for a more upright touring position. Could always chop it shorter though!

Love thorns.... Well built, my daily ride is a Raven tour, 853 tubing, and the other is a lee cooper built fillet brazed 531 Nomad, what I will say is the forks are maybe a bit flexy for offroading but I have done some some bad dirt tracks before and theyre still going strong.

I’d love either a nomad or XTC, very nice bikes Do you have the twin crown forks?

The nomad is pre the yellow ones so uses the standard thorn 531 fork, only pic i can find (the awful bars and saddle are long gone). the raven has almost the same fork but reversed brake bosses. would love one of the MK3 forks, they look nice.

Word is you’re under contract to only use a butt-ugly stem and/or bars when you buy a Thorn..

I have been eyeing this up. I want to build a tourer for the wife. I have got a Rohloff, an ugly stem and everything else waiting for a frame. The Thorn looks like just what I need
