As you know I am a sucker for a Scott (especially an E-Stay) and a sucker for a basket case......Well the stars have perfectly aligned.

It's not cracked!(surprisingly!) But the paint is shocking and is going to need a complete strip down (Just the way I like them)

I will probably stick with black but was thinking of investigating hydro dipping.

Component wise I have always wanted to do a flouro yellow theme and I think this may be my opportunity.

Re:

I think I saw this on eBay recently, wondered where that would end up! Looking forward to seeing this come together, think it’s got potential to be pretty special, I agree with you - Scott + e-stay = win.
Good luck with the build.

Thanks for that, will be a slow burn as I have far too many bikes I should be finishing off but sanding frames will make a change from polishing them!

Are you stripping the frame right back ?

Mike Muz did something similar but then painted his which was a shame - can’t remember the reason why

Re:

Yep stripping it right back, but because it's thermoplastic, there is no lovely carbon weave under there. But thinking about hydro dipping a carbon transfer onto it.

Re:

Just perusing the web looking at fork options for the front. 1997 seemed to be Rock Shox SID's, Manitou Mach 5 or Marzocchi Bomber Z1/Z2's...any thoughts?

Great project.. how about some Judy fsx forks with the carbon legs? Could be a winner if you went down the hydro dipping option?

Re:

I had thought about FSX's but was thinking of a road less travelled, I was definately going for black fork lowers, but carbon legs may compete too much with the frame. But thanks for the suggestion.
