Good Evening

There are times when accumulating rare frame is in obsession. It has been the case lately and the last two years. One of my favorite german sellers, had a very nice Basso Viper at my size for sale for a decent price which was for sale, I grabbed it immediately . I have testrode in the past a Basso Zer which was a fine and well made machine, this one is a steel frame 1855grams with a steel fork 669g , so a total weight of 2524grams, the yellow color is pleasing and it features lugs and fillet brazing which makes a nice bike. The equipment for it will be dura ace 7800, zipp 60, conti gp4 season 3t mutant ahead bar and stem.

Interesting - the Basso website still sells the Viper, but it is showing a fully-lugged frame - do you know when this changed?

I think it happened in the 2005-2010 but not sure, mine is a 1994 model so a 30 years old model and at the time Basso used exclusively Dedacciai Zero 18MCDV6 HT steel , not sure if it is still the case. I bought the frame because many years back I tried a Basso Zer which I liked a lot which influenced me to buy the Viper.
