I'll start the d**k swing with my old hifi:

I had a £100,000 (retail) hifi system comprising of Wilson Watt Puppies (£25k), Krell FPB350M x 3 (£45k), TAG McLaren Audio AV192R (19k), DVD32R(£5k), JBL 4333B (£5k) as rear speakers and a TAG McLaren Audio 100x5R (£3k) for the rest of the amplification.


At the time it was worth more than my house.

That and I grew up in a house that had grounds consisting of 90acres of park & farmland, a commanding view over my home city, it's own church and a 25 foot diameter stained glass dome on the roof, alas those days are gone and all I am left with are happy memories and delusions of grandeur.

(Never owned it though, my father was teacher in charge of the residential facility run by the city.)

It ran hot enough to warm the house. Sound was detailed but not what you'd expect. It can only sound as good as the source material, a badly mastered CD or DVD will never sound good.

And I didnt buy new but I was the genuine owner. The amps and speakers had their own purpose built wooden crates for shipping.
