Re:

Me and LGF have variants of the SL-P1200 - mine's a B, the one with the studio functionality and balanced O/Ps. Unfortunately it is in a bad way and diagrams for the B appear not to exist, and they are very different from the other version electronically. Still quite fancy a go at a working one! I'm using a much modified, much simplified stripped out CD63 though, and nothing that comes through my hands gets close so far.

Re:

cool!
i had a 1200B too a while back, the pitch control was a fader, what was that all about?!
sold it to buy the 1300 :D
quirky and odd looking, but i do love em!
i still reckon all the old gear just 'sounds' better, all my stuff is old school.
newer technology seems more clinical sounding, to my old ears anyway!

Re:

After such fine examples of top end stuff slightly shame faced to post up my latest addition albeit for the sum of £10 from a nice man on gumtree. I have a denon digital tuner and it was nice but the allure of analogue and needle dials was enough for me ha ha. Was really surprised to find that this machine sunds so much better very smooth and very little background noise these old national panasonic tuners are good bits of kit and would def recommend them just hope they put back the fm switch off back indefinatly. This is the 2400 model.

I think they've got enough spectrum to keep them busy (and raise ££££billions!) with the switch off of analogue TV, so the piddly little bit between 88MHz - 108MHz will be FM radio for some time yet. Thing with FM band is they can't overrun the upper end it as commercial aviation is above it. Hasn't bothered them with analogue TV switch-off - witness the clashes and general f*cking mess between 4G and some DTV multiplexes which they are conveniently ignoring.
