Ok ok! No long story....
This is the one I always grab! It just rides so great for me, Smooth and comfortable. I built it back in about 93 from parts I had laying around.
Deore lx, mag-21's, scott at-3 (?) Control tech post and stem, Onza Mongo 2, Flite seat, Onza Pedals. It even has my old Nightsuns on it.

Sweet ride, I to have a go-to bike but I have a go-to Roadie and a go-to MTB. I have 8 bikes now but two of them get ridden more. How light is that bike?

I had a days riding on one of these on loan from the UK importers d it was lively a light. The demo model had spin carbon wheels and the combination was harsh. After a days riding in the Cheviots I felt like I'd been in a boxing ring all day. I'm pretty sure it was the wheels and the bike was rather nice and light. Strangely it had one of the ill fated funk Sus forks.

Out of interest, how easy is it to date Kestrel frames?

• Serials?
• Features?

So far in my searches I haven't come across anything obvious / reliable.

Any one get any info on this?

Cheers,
BB.
