Terrifying Retro TT Bike vs. Modern Superbike |

Interesting video, however the '90s' were the years when I got into bike racing, and a number of aspects of this video have to be taken into account.
I am not 100% certain, but as far as I can recall the 'Softride' system that is on the retro frame was not primarily designed for aerodynamics; it was for comfort. In fact I was only recently talking to Chris Hopkinson (first British RAAM finisher) and he said beam bikes like this one were fantastic for long distance, and not for a superfast '10' as they were too flexy. He last rode the RAAM a few years ago with a Falco frameset, a more modern version of the Softride if you will, which he said was fantastic for the 3,000 mile event.
Also, the rider had never ridden a disc wheel before, so we can probably assume he is a totally novice when it comes to racing; so it is not really a genuine comparison as such.
The cockpit does look incredibly flexy, and certainly nothing like the sort of rock solid setup I had in the mid-90s!
