Swapsies only... anyone interested?

*I hope this is within the forum rules? Not looking to sell... just to swap if there is something suitable. I did see in the guide that swaps were allowed - but if I've missed something let me know and I'll make the needed changes/remove it.

Hi there!

If anyone is interested - I am looking to swap this 16 inch GT Avalanche for something bigger - (full straight swap for a 19 or 20 inch fully built bike).

I don't know if it is a realistic hope - but a LTS would be amazing. I'm after something I can get on and ride with minimal expense / faf - so not interested in half done projects sorry! Happy to see hard tail suggestions, but would prefer an Alu frame rather than a steel (sorry!).

I've included some pics of the build - which I did last year. It didn't see action till early this year- and has been used since a fair bit off road, but looked after very well. It's a great bike in great condition and rides brilliantly. Gear changes are perfect, brake power is excellent - loads of time and effort spent on getting it just so.

I did originally have a XT 730 chainset on it and maguras, but I changed these out for an LX chainset and v-brakes. It's better for the change. The entire bike is perfectly set up and operates like new. (The bottom photo is what it looks like today).

SO- the specs:

Frame: GT Avalance 16 inch. (Top tube 22 inch). Owner before me stripped the paint of it and put new decals on it. It still looks almost new. No dings, but the odd point about this is that it has a threadless BB. Presumably the threads are gone. The threadless BB in there is OK but has a little play, so I've just ordered a velo orange Grand Cru threadless - which I will fit before any swap (as long as it arrives!). These are very good - and should last as long as any decent BB.

Forks: Pace RC36 EVO II. These have been sent to justbackdated (Tim @ fork english) and had a PC2 spring conversion and full service, with decals replaced. Did this last year - in beautiful condition... love these forks. (1 1/8 steerer).

Chainset: Deore LX
Front Mech: Deore
RearMech: XT - recently added Hope jockeys (ceramic and bling!)
Cassette / chain SRAM 7 sp - pretty new. Very good condition.
Shifters : LX
Brakes: XT V's - parallel push... set up with clarks pads and an extra spacer and a brake booster to add even more power (just my preference). These are better than the maguras I had on it by some way... love these brakes.

Stem - Acor 130mm (quite long... if you're the right size for the frame, you'll want to swap this out I'd expect)
Headset - FSA Pig.
Bars - Club roost go fast bars. VGC.
Seatpost - race face XC. VGC. (Plus hope clamp - bling).

Wheels: Rear: 217 Sup on STX RC hub. New freehub added about a month ago. V close to totally true and never a problem even with the V-brakes. 217 sticker has come off. SUP sticker remains.
Front: 518? on a deore hub. True. Needs a regrease but no play and a fine wheel.
I've also added hope skewers - but I may keep these... not sure.
Tyres: Velociraptor on the front and Country Mud on the back - good for varied XC... even does OK in the V boggy stuff. Both in VGC, minimal wear.

Think that's about it!

Contact me if you have any suggestions.

Cheers

Max

i have an 18" gt agressor frame in black, if you just want to swap frames.......i don't mind either way really as i don't use the agressor and i won't use your frame.....but it's in my shed if it helps you out!

Hi zetecmk2

Can you tell me about the aggressor. What age is it, version, what is the length of the top tube? What's the condition of the frame like?
