I’ve tried Alfine. I broke it…..
I have a 2 speed hub on one of my Raleigh Twentys, that’s a lovely ride… so far that’s done 5 x Tonoshites (100 miles in a day on a shite bike) and a coast to coast…

What if I told everyone I could design a 2 speed hub that’s as discrete as a tiny normal freewheel hub? And I’ll do it for a good price..

...just bought a Karate Monkey - and interesting that all the reviews say 'this is a heavy frame but rides like one which is much lighter....'

And I picked ut up from Lewes last weekend. It is indeed a heavy thing, compared to a Roadrat etc (an extra half kilo for the frameset at least). So when I build it up (ss or 8 speed) I bloody hope that it does 'ride light' - it certainly will ride STRONG. Beautifully built frame.

I have had a “few” Karate Monkeys. The only 1 I have left is now my fixed gear, winter, tow path bike…It’s a lovely all day bike..
