Supermarket Self-Service Tills

I like the Asda ones best... When they ask you to insert your chip and pin card the woman gets all saucy when she says 'or slide your card in the side of the screen if it doesn't have a pin'

Always makes me chuckle.

I may have mentioned one tried to charge me £550 for a steak pie once, but with multibuy it came down to £499

I only really use them when I have a couple of items and I'm in a rush.

Can't say I consider shopping to be an experience... It's just something I do so my cupboard doesn't end up bare.

As an ex checkout chick (so is Mrs Scrat) I love em, as the staff these days are useless tards.

on the flip side, self serve does make it hard to entertain lovely young hotties on the otherside of the till.

These things stink!

Before long all 'Supermarkets' will be fully automated with a security guard patroling the tills.

It's happening in banks too! Who needs to interact with another human being aye? And we wonder why the 'yoof' are fick and ignorant and that, innit!

I pay to be served NOT serve my self :x
When my local Sainsburys take the check-out folk away I wont
shop there again.

Ah, but do you expect someone to push your trolley and/or expect someone to get the groceries for you?

Just a thought as it wasn't that long ago people where moaning about having to do exactly that- in the good old days when you were served at a proper counter and the shop boy went around collecting up your order and even deliver it by bike. Ultimate job creation and environmental shopping.

:)

EVOLVE OR DIE OUT is my view, great when they work, a pain when they dont, i do all my shopping in about 10 minutes, i just hate the shoppers who wander around aimlessly, or who have uncontrollable kids

food has never been so cheap , so we pay the price somewhere else .

 Our food bill seems to go up every week at the moment.

For nipping and getting a sarnie and coke at lunchtime, they are ace.

Big shop, use a serviced checkout where the packing is done for you.

Simple.
