You could weld the T handle on (brazing or silver solder is better) but to fit the actual allen key - drill a hole 4.2mm dia and about 25mm deep, cut off the straight portion of the allen key, grind a lead-in on one end and press (or drive) it in. No need to weld it. Use 8mm dia. Silver Steel for the extension - stainless will do too.
I still use a whole set of these (2.5,3,4,5,6 and 8mm) that I made as an apprentice 40 years ago.
