It's a 98 model year. Mine since new. Only ever assembled once (with full M950 group) by very qualified mechanic (Alasdair at Lancing Cycles). I don't know where to start as this is an extremely rare frame. It's made from Nivacrom Colombus steel and welded by SUNN in St Gaudens (France). Verified weight is 1850g including brake bosses. Ritchey drop outs. The seat stays double up at brake level to reduce brake flex (no need for a booster) and increase longitudinal stiffness. This frame is incredibly quick yet incredibly resilient and comfy. It makes aluminium feel like a redundant material for a hardtail.
It has all of the original stickers (including the famous bubbles on the top tube) and front badge. I have been riding it up to 2 month ago but I am switching to Commencal (aluminium HT, don't ask about this contradiction).
Top tube is 575mm centre to centre
Head tube is 125mm
Seat tube is 500mm centre to top or 435 centre to centre
Post diameter is 27.2mm - it takes a 28.6mm front mech
I was running a 63mm travel SID and the geo was spot on.
Comes with original RACEFACE headset which is in almost perfect condition (not your recent Chinese soft steel Raceface job but proper Canadian hs with Japanese cartridge bearings which are silky smooth)
Condition: it is structurally completely sound but cosmetically average. Loads of paint chips and some superfical rust. I could have it resprayed but the stickers are impossible to find. I honnestly don't know how to describe it condition wise so I propose that the buyer inspects before buying or send back if not happy, although they would have to cover both shipping costs.
Price is £195 UK posted, including the Raceface headset. If you haggle, I'll throw in the XTR M950 front mech that was fitted from new and works perfectly. Payment is Paypal gift or cash.
