STS Lobo questions

Hi,

I've got a STS Lobo which appears to be all original apart from saddle and tyres.

One thing that confuses me is the rims are sun rhyno lite rather than the D321 that nearly all the others have. Is my bike a early version or something? Only seen one other picture of one like mine years ago and nothing on google comes up.

Can you date the sts Lobo from the serial number like a Zaskar ?

STS lobo's were only made for one year in 98 then they switched to aluminum.

Would that be reflected on the serial number?

Maybe in its life the rims have been damaged and the owner just replaced the rims, cheaper than buying a whole new wheelset.

don't think non-standard rims make it anything special, just means the rims are different. Could be a shop swap before first purchase for example.

BTW i love these, the lobo is on my little list

I've always wanted a lobo but they never come up for sale so when I spotted a lad riding it around sherwood pines I made a offer.
