Retro Newbie
Hello,
I recently bought an old Pinarello Montello and found the seat post to be stuck in the frame. Through the application of oil and a lot of brute force I managed to get it loose. As it came out a small, broken metal ring which had been on the seat post fell off.
I cleaned the muck and rust off the seat post and inside the seat tube as best I could and now without this ring, no matter how tight I turn the binder bolt it will not hold the seat post in place. There is a small space between the seat tube and the seat post. Has anyone heard of this extra ring or does that sound like something the previous owner improvised themselves?
I'm almost certain the saddle is the original although the seat post itself may not be. I have pictures if that would help. Any advice anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot
