I love the look of the early 1990's Clockworks, but have had this frame since new, I decided to build it up with full XT for functionality, a hard powder coat finish to make it practical and the 1992 Clockwork decals from Gil_m as they are the best era for Orange logos in my opinion.

You read my mind mate as I've been thinking of getting a late 90's Clockwork and putting those decals on it for a while. Love the 'Stalk' touch  Looks cool and you get the 1 1/8th headset and suss corrected frame. Think I've sourced a 99 orange/white so we'll have to compare.

Really like what you've done btw, looks superb. :D

Thanks mate, it happened by accident, I have always wanted an 1992- 1994 era (still classic Orange but the top tube slopes the right way) but I was in a shop in early 1998 and this one (a bare frame in slime green) was up for a discount. The story was a lad came in, paid a £100 deposit, never collected and after a few attempts at contacting him the shop sold her to me for £100 less than RRP. I built it up with old XT and used it for years, when she got scruffy I had her painted in enamel as pictured below. After a few years I sold her, regretted it and bought her back.
I decided it was time for a clean start so powdercoat and more classic decals follwed. :D

She rides beautifully and I am very pleased. RC30's on a oversize steel frame are a fabulous combination.

Orange

The story also goes that the new manager at the time went on a spending spree and started purchasing lots of stock and expensive bling, coming up to the annual stock take they had to clear stock out to reduce the stock level value. Along with your clockwork there was a 17" p7 frame on orange that went for £ 120.

Yes I spent to much time deliberating between the clockwork and p7. The clockwork went and the p7 was to small

Yes I still hold it aganst you:)
