Specialized S Works

I fell deeply for this bike recently. It's not quite as old as my usual passions but i think it looks a realy nice transition between where MTB cross country bikes were in the early 90's and now.

I believe it's 2001 S Works kitted out with XTR with Marzochi forks. But does anybody think they have it in them to work out the full spec :?:

For a bonus point, who is the rider and what has she just won on her Specialized :?:

One of those tasty Manitous, where the red paint fades away on the arch to reveal carbon fibre, very sexy but I cant remember what they where called.

X ray grips?

Yes Xray special that.

You mean these Manitou Mars.

The decal on the side in the original photo has a more solid swoosh behind/under Manitou in solid yellow. Maybe an earlier version.

Further research would indicate Manitou Mars Elite or Super as there is a damper adjuster on the lower right fork leg. Also not sure if I see a disc mount on the originals.maybe they did them in v brake version.

Now for the bike. I found a stock photo but Marga's is far from stock.
