Was wondering what year these where released.
I have a set of the original model and cant remember what year I bought them.
Im thinking I had the on my Fisher CR7 which was 1989. wish i still had the CR7.

I bought my DX spds (M525 ?) in early 1994. I know spds were around for at least a couple of years before then.

There's are a few threads on this with some good info in it, I'll search them out later if needed. But to answer the question, they where introduced for the 1991 model year.

that'd be LX wouldn't it, DX's were 636's in 96

I got 525's in 93, then 535's in 96 and 636's in late 96 or early 97

I think thats how the numbers when? so bloody confusing

first spd's 1990 acording to mombat

and you're right about the 525 being DX, I alwyas thought DX was stopped in 92 and replaced by LX and thats what that pedal was under...shit you never knew you learn every day, liek never heard of the 747 or 858... but now I have

I said DX from memory, they might have been LX...

great pedals though, still going strong on my parkpre!

Be careful with mombat as they tend not to work in model years like the bike industry.
Like I said above they where introduced in the 1991 model year* and placed at the XT level. In 1992 model year, all hell let loose and race shoes, 2 new lower down models etc came about. XT and the new XTR had the M737 of previous year, DX and LX gained the new M525 as a pedal option and the other A525 for for the more casual rider, probably under a road/touring group though.

*so last few months of 1990 for consumers.
