Sourcing a long M7 stem wedge bolt?

Imazagi

Retro Newbie
Hi all,
I found this unmarked (maybe custom?) titanium stem for 1 1/8" threaded steerers I'd like to use on my '95 Marin Pine Mountain build. Sadly it came without hardware. The aluminum wedge from a Marin stem fits nicely, but the Ti stem uses a long bolt that goes all the way up to the cap. I wasn't lucky in finding a full length M7 bolt, as you can see it needs to be about 140mm. Does anyone know where (in Europe?) I could fine one? Or do I need to have one machined?

Can you tap the wedge out to m8, or insert an m6 nut into it?

M7 are famously difficult to source, and long, in ti, I think you'll need to have it made!
In steel it will be challenge enough.
You might find something automotive, but the head is unlikely to be Allen socket.

Would it not be easier to source another wedge and bolt?
Yes, if anyone knows of a stem model with a full length bolt and aluminum wedge, it get that one and use the parts. But most light stems I know (Marin and Velocity) use a shelf and short bolt to keep the weight down.

The wedge angles aren't necessarily standard, so swapping the wedge needs close comparison

Good point, thank you
Are you sure about that?
Oh nice, mine all use a recessed bolt.
Yeah, I saw that. And that was the short one! Finding someone with a lathe is probably the smartest option in the end.
