hi guys, here's the back story to this bike. my friend has asked me to put this on here with the intention of selling it. unfortunately we have no idea what it is other than its Italian!
he got it in payment for a job he did. the guy who gave it to him said it was his sons who left it at his house when he moved out many years ago. he cant remember what make or model it is and the only thing he can remember is that his son had it repainted some years ago.
im guessing from the components its not a cheap frame, it has chromes half stays and forks that looks tig welded and the paint seems to be a explosion in a kona factory  but someone must have chosen it.
the bike is, as far as we can tell completely original albeit dirty and the chroming has some pitting with some rust on the bolts. it rides and the tyres are holding air :D
the rims are mavic on campag hubs
it has a full campag groupset including the bb and headset, q/r lever, pedals ect.
im sure you guys will know what it is and be able to date it with no trouble whatsoever!
so here it is, he wants 350 for it and is willing to box it up if someone sends a courier. he isn't really interested in splitting it unless someone wants the entire groupset. in which case I can get a price.its located in corby, northamptonshire.
heres the pictures, enjoy!

first thought is a Gary Fisher?
nope, fishers were tange framed this has nothing fishery on it or remotely Japanese. the cable guide under the bb is like a small metal bridge fixed to the bb shell which only has the number 45 stamped on it. im guessing its some kind of custom. the original owner was convinced the frame is Italian. and with that groupset im guessing Columbus (but that's only because I don't know of any other Italian tubing)

Is the BB etched/branded? Most the Italian builders would have panto's either the BB, or the stay caps at least, kinda interesting still, reminds me of a Pinarello I had, but without any more details its hard to say.

Panto:

Similar headset lugs:

Its pretty cool nonetheless, although without some more details and with the condition of the kit the price may be a big ask.

to test it's 'Italian-ness' look at the BB or headset as any italian frame of this period will have a 70mm BB and Italian threads on both
