There is no good time for a chain to snap!! And the stem/gonad interface is wholly unpleasant :LOL: anyway, track chains should be as as strong or stronger than a multi spreed chain.
With a short cage road mech (Drilled of course) it meant you needed less chain links, therefore less weight, you could get away with a smaller capacity, lighter rear cassette etc...

also had a tioga revolver crankset arm snap on me whilst sprinting hard one day ...damn near chewed my duralite 2000 handlebars....sent them off and the replaced them with a revised upgraded version...
