SOLD,Klein Adroit Race ,Chehalis built, frame only NOS

As per title ,Chehalis built,takes tapered steerer,no forks nor headset bearings and no mech hanger ,mettalic green -purple fade ,NOS ,unridden ,was stripped down and parts swapped over by shop and bought frame off them,there are odd marks in clear coat due to storage over past 20+ yrs ,1998 production ,bought in ‘99,serial number in photo,seat tube 45cm c-c /49 c-top,headtube 12.5 cm,top tube 58cm c-c,Klein size large, ,looking for £200 happy to told Iam off but please don’t turn it into a RetroBike hate thread ,happy to box up correctly and post if buyer pays,thanks happy answer any questions,Stef

I think this is a ‘99 model. Do you know what headset this takes? I think the Adroits ran the tapered down head tubes so need an adaptor to run a reg 1 1/18 fork. I might be off the mark there but could do with knowing in case I end up sh1t out of luck getting a new headset. Cheers

Klein sold out in 95. I always thought it was 97 until I was rightly corrected on here few months back

1996 and beyond is under Trek ownership.

Thanks all ,I need to sit down and work out accurately the year I got her ,I listed her as pre-Trek as frame says ‘made in Chehalis’ ,which to most of us is probably the more important distinction,I need to re-read Gary’s interview in Rouleur magazine,it definitely has the tapered headset ,the ‘99 date sounds accurate as it sparks a memory of talking about Lance Armstrong with the mechanic at the shop ,Iam going to try and adjust listing ,adjusting date ,taking out Trek but maybe adding Chehalis

It’s a 98 - I can see it now I’ve got on a laptop not the phone. 21L is frame size and 0998 is Sept 1998 production

Hi Stef, sorry - I can’t Pm yet as I haven’t enough posts. Having priced up bearings, headset adapter and hanger it pushes me way past what I want to spend to be honest. Thanks for coming back to me tho, cheers
