I am selling my 1956 Ellis Briggs frame and forks. Comes complete with BB and headset. Both of which are smooth. The frame has lovely rear pencil stays and I have had the alignment checked and it's all fine. I purchased this about 18 months ago from the daughter of the old chap who bought it new in May 1956. It was ordered from Ellis Briggs and delivered to Southgate Street Cycles in Gloucester (now long gone).
I contacted Ellis Briggs and this was confirmed from the frame number I gave them and it's still Flam Ruby red. The paint is in remarkably good condition considering it's nearly 60 years old. It has lovely detailed NERVEX lugs.
There are a couple of small dents to the top tube as you can see in the photos. Don't be confused with reflections in the frame. The dents are about the size of the fingernail on your little finger.
Seat tube is 57 cm measured centre of BB to centre of top tube.
Top tube is 57 cm measured centre to centre.
The head tube is 14 cm.
