Nothing wrong with it, but calling himself Frank the Welder when there are masses of welders who can produce similar (or better) welds is a bit rich!

Agreed, building a bike frame is something any competent welder/fabricator can do

I dont think he calls himself this, I think the bike world has given him this name over the years.

I also think you do him a disservice, sure any competent welder could build a bike technically but few have the years of experience of knowing how their build translates into a nice bike to ride. Somebody who knows the best tubes, the best angles, the ride characteristics. So if somebody builds you a bike you'd rather have somebody build it who had built them many many times before or a rolls royce engine?

Hasn't frank spent most of his career building other people's designs?

It's not frank I'm attacking directly, it's the cult-like atmosphere that seems to exist around framebuilders...

Sigh and this is why we love internet forums?

I posted the films up because I repect his many years of building bikes, his designs and others. I thought people would enjoy the insight, either into the man himself or how bikes are built. I dont hold him up as a god, just somebody I respect where bike welding is concerned. Somebody I trust with my bikes. Nuff said. I'm outta this debate.
