I will be looking at stripping it to metal this weekend, I am desperately trying to find the colour code to have some paint made up, once painted though, I am goung to give it some clearcoat on top to stop any fade.

Cant wait to see it back in all its glory.

It will have an internal Raleigh color code starting CF, CF01 was black for example.

There is no code in RAL and the like, Raleigh were big enough to have their own codes lol

You want to go by a real paint/car shop an have them scan your frame.
If you don't want to, see above info (and photoshop)

That's quite orangey, like some Europa's were. I'd go a bit darker red like the team bikes

Red fades over time, if you want to scan the original colour go for the steerer tube or under the down tube shifters

They go quite orange - y over time so would have been a bit more red. The later ones had a darker hue which in my opinion were a bit "blood red" rather than pillar box red.

What @vcballbat said check the steerer. That will be unfaded.

The steerer tube looks to be pretty good condition paint and I think I have found the colour RAL 3026
