All the Roberts I've seen had hoop-shaped seat stays. This has the more conventional wishbone style with individual stays joined to the sides of the upper tube.

What is a Sonic fork?

Well I won this but yet to collect it, I dont think its a Roberts (nice if it was!) but neither of my 2 Roberts use ritchey dropouts.

Any ideas on ID would be appreciated. By the looks of the forks, I think sonic forks must mean Pace RC30's with a random sticker on them.

Well done. I would have bid on it too, if it hadn't been collect from far away.

It would be interesting to know what it is, but I expect you'll do well to find out for certain. Could it possibly be one of the pre-Merlin Cycles Taiwan Rock Lobsters? It may well be a good-quality frame - I guess its weight may be the best indication.

From the photo, it looks to have a substantial bb drop, indicating that it was designed for a longer fork than the one on it, in which case it should be suitable for suspension if that's what takes your fancy.

It's certainly a good-looking frame. It would be nice to see more of it on the Readers' Bikes section.
