A bike that needed some upgrades. Had this for a while but was 50/50 on parts around the bike. Some XT, some XTR and some low end stuff. All M900 now and a nasty sounding Ringle hub in the rear, front matching. I do have the original Halson for the bike but it needs a rebuild so the Mag is in it's place.

There was a reasonably recent thread where someone refurbed some Halsons if you were looking for info, though the Mags look spot on.

Whats the ride like?

so very much wrong with it, yet so very much right as well. looks great.

Lost the Mag fork, installed the Halson. Have the elastomers in the mail. Not sure about the Salsa stem though, skinny little thing compared to the rest of the bike. Halson boots were toast so found some Amazon things that matched up with diameters for tubes, crazy. Advice, stick with the stem or no?

All set with the weird bike now. Full M900 build, Ringle hubs and a nice no logo CK headset. Just need a cap for the stem, 1" caps are not things I have, eBay I suppose.

New direction, found a Bontrager Composite chrome job in my parts that I forgot about that had some pitting. Repaint and waiting for a new steer tube that needs a small mod to go threadless.

I had a dream about a Slingshot last night.

Weird, I very rarely, if ever, have bike dreams.

The manager of the shop next door found one at a garage sale and was building it up. She had frame, fork, headset and stem, and it was just sitting like that outside, parked next to an old Kona she was doing at the same time. Also without wheels.

And, honestly, the jealousy pouring through my sleeping veins...

Have the threadless steer tube back from Dale Saso installed. Not sure was an option then with Bontrager Composite but seems a perfect fit. Slim cockpit and forks, big tubes in the back.

Lovely. Would not dare ride a slingshot myself, but they're sure something to look at. Think you've made the right choice with your current setup, it's very clean. Love the cockpit and fork in contrast to the rest.
