In the Inn, that could only mean one thing. Here, some clarification is required: were you, or the bikes loaded?

I used to use my RM blizzard with a handfull of alpkit dry bags for my adventures ... but love my 29er for touring game changer with tubeless tyres ,wide bars .....

It is. It’s a 2019 one. If I was getting another one I would go for a 2020 onwards - 29” wheels and not the 27.5” plus. That said it is a great bike and got me back into regular cycling again.

I have a 1997 Pine Mountain also! That’s a proper retro bike.

That's what I'm thinking. I have one from 1994 and I love it.

I'm a year round sailing dinghy racer and canoeist plus occasional offshore racer: those things terrify me.

They all appear to have a single buoyancy chamber - one leak and you are shortly swimming. It's pretty bad paddling a canoe upwind and those must be worse - fatter and less able to punch through waves and an inefficient position. Fine for sheltered water, anything else no.
