My custom built Steel Single speed back at the start of 2004

Rim and tyre choice was non existent, I ran the only tyres I could find, red walled IRC Notos tyres and built a pair of Blue Mavic Open pro's into a single speed wheelset, a 19mm rim with a 2.2 tyre...Never had a problem

Loved that bike, super short rear end, loads of fun, till the back end fell off :facepalm:

...back end fell off???!

I ran mine with those Rocket Rons, on a pair of road Bontrager factory wheels for a while. Biggest problem was setting up the V-Brakes to work, without rubbing through the sidewalls! :shock:
