Shogun Triple Triangle and rather nice !

I am afraid I have not got a pic of this but today I seen a Shogun Prairie Breaker not sure thats right but I think thats what it said in the Bike Station in Edinburgh.
It was a brazed triple triangle double butted chromolly steel bike with XT kit and seatstay mounted U-Brakes and lots of high end kit. Certainly looked a classy retro MTB.

Anybody got info on this bike and a picture, I've heard of Shogun but I thought they did naff modern BSO stuff.

The Bike Station also had a Shogun Rock Breaker also chromolly but lower down the pecking order by its kit.

Shogun are most definitely not BSOs. They built frames for many big names; their own named bikes were pretty handy

Full XT and Tange Prestige. I was the third owner, but I don't think either of the first two had ridden it. It came with a "Bike Tech" (Bristol) sticker, so Caratti Sport were probably handling them.

There were a few decent Shogun aluminium road bikes on the UK market in the mid nineties, but they seemed more common in Australia when I was living over there. I had a Katana triple-triangle steel road model from the late eighties that saw a lot of dirt road mileage.

i had the team issue with xt,mks spuds,tange shockblades,revover crankset ect ,,,very nice bike..custom paint job mettalic two tone fade green paintjob,i hope the scumbag who stole it rots ...but thats just me...

I'm a big Shogun fan. I have one of these framesets (Tange Prestige, my favourite frame material ) in ~ 17" that I plan to restore at some stage. I also had an 18" Prairie Breaker (also Tange Prestige) for some time. Amazing bikes back in the late '80's/early '90's.
